On Friday, 27 September 2024, at 7 pm, a lecture by Dr. Franci Gabrovšek titled The Underground Stream of the Reka River took place at the Jože Gustinčič cave hut in front of the Vilenica Cave as part of the autumn edition of the Kraška gmajna festival. In his lecture, Dr. Gabrovšek described the course of the Reka River between the Škocjan Caves Park and the source of the Timavo River, as well as the exploration of the latter through the caves discovered above the river. He was followed by Marco Restaino, assisted by Sara Bensi, who explained how the speleologists of the Society Adriatica di Speleologia proved the presence of the Timavo river at the bottom of the air hole cave between Trebiciano and Fernetti in March 2024.
